A giddy mix of influences and genres, Ragnarok Odyssey is part Norse mythology, part-medieval and part-Manga-influenced. It's a strange beast about the killing of strange beasts. You play as a customised warrior in a world where humans and giants are constantly at odds. Hone your skills, take on smaller monsters and make your way to becoming a giant slayer. There are shades of God of War and Shadow of the Colossus in this role-playing game , mainly in the third-
person hack-and-slash combat. The PS Vita is a good home for it, allowing you to instantly communicate with other players who can pitch in on the campaign and battles. The menus are, plentiful and complex, but also clear and managea ble. The story and characters could have more substance, but it's an attractive, playable title. For an RPG on a portable device you could do much, much worse.
